The Rebirth from ESCAPism in workaholism and chemical paradises.

Behind this portmanteau is a natural born musician, an exceptionally gifted songwriter, remixer and music producer who specialises in pop and electro. An inspired King Midas who turns every sound, beat, loop and song into gold. Let’s summarize the long story of an unusual destiny, entirely dedicated to creation...

Régis Ducatillon was born in Lille, North of France, on 16th June 1971. At the young age of 8 years old, he started composing music. As a teenager in the mid 80’s, he created his first band with Samy Deep & Pascal Blach. He achieved international success in the early 90’s with ‘I won’t let you down’ (a PhD cover) by 2 Boys, their first European hit.

Throughout the 90’s, Régis composed, produced and collaborated with European artists such as CJ Wilson, Alpha Base, Holy Ghost, Jocko, D-Trax, Indra, Pleasure Games, La Bouche, Black Groove, Karen Mulder, Fenua and more. He continued to exhilarate dancefloors until he achieved the success of a worldwide platinum album in 1998 for ‘Havana Delirio’, including the famous track ‘Carnavalera’.

This award was the first milestone of a new adventure, starting in 2001, with the worldwide release of ‘The Dude’ by Universal Music. The album was entirely composed and produced by Régis and was a nod to Jeff Bridge’s character in the Coen Brother’s film, ‘The Big Lebowski’. This kind of song, dedicated to the love to cinema got an instant answer: ‘Rock Da Juice’ and ‘Be Happy’, two singles extracted from the album, were used as synchronizations in blockbuster movies and worldwide TV shows such as ‘Scooby-Doo’, ‘E.T’ (the 20th Anniversary), ‘Malcom In The Middle’, ‘Kangaroo Jack’, etc. They also featured in hundreds of commercials, including ‘Pepsi World’, ‘NYC Yankee’s Item’, ‘Kinder’, ‘Target’ stores, ‘North American Lottery’, ‘Wendy’s’, ‘Khol’s’ and video games.

As a result of this tremendous success, Régis moved to USA in 2003. Based in Miami, he worked with international artists, composing and remixing tracks for artists such as Beyonce, Juanes, Joe Smooth, Chris Brown, Sharlene and also featured with Sean Paul & Chobakka.  He also continued to collaborate with many US brands, including syncs each year for Target Stores. In the meantime, he never forgot France, composing platinum hits beyond the ocean for ‘L5’ (winner band of ‘Popstar’ TV Show) and ‘Star Academy’ (the French version of ‘American Idol’).

After living so many lives simultaneously, with overwork and excesses of all kinds, Régis was betrayed by his body...betrayed or, rather, saved? Falling seriously ill in 2010, he had to move back to France in 2011 for medical care. Unfortunately, this flirtation with death took him away from music for a few years. But, as soon as he recovered, he reignited his passion and lifelong love for composing and built a new studio in his house in the French Riviera, on the outskirts of Cannes.

Now working under the alias ‘RESCAP’, the alchemist is now back on track with his passion.
